At Wink Lash Bar we are often asked questions about our service and our lashes so we have
answered a lot of these below:

Taster Set:

Taster, is a set we recommend as an introduction to Russian lashes. Typically the appointment will last around 90 min.
We are aiming to give you the look you require using natural, glam or mega glam technique and our Lash Technician will aim
for approximately 50% to 70% dependant on the density of your natural lashes.

Full Set Lashes: (Natural)

Natural, this is a mix of 2-3D Russian volume lashes gives a natural mascara look.

Full Set Lashes: (Glam)

Glam this is a mix of 4-6D Russian volume lashes giving a Day through to evening look.

Full Set Lashes: (Mega Glam)

A mix of 6-12D Russian volume lashes, for ladies who love a strip lash look every day.

Eyelash extensions involve a procedure where individual synthetic lashes are carefully attached one by one
onto your natural lashes to add length and volume.

Classic Eyelash extensions are a single synthetic lash attached to your own individual eyelash they add length
and thickness to the natural eyelash. They make the lashes more noticeable by extending their length and
adding a darker colour to the lash. Classic lash extensions are known to be a bit heavier than Russian Volume

Russian volume eyelash extensions are multiple fine lashes (hand made fans) attached to your one natural
eyelash. Creating volume, length and fullness.

The term 2D, 3D, 6D, 12D etc, explains the concentration of the lashes applied to each individual natural lash.
The technique used is a multiple of fine lashes taken from the pallet and hand fanned before being placing on one individual natural lash, giving a fuller look. The more lashes used in a fan the fuller the final result will look. 3D equates to approx a 3 lash fan 4D,6D and so on… The more lashes which are placed into a extension fan the fuller and more volume your lashes will appear.

Ideally, eyelash extensions should last for the life of your natural lashes, which is usually around 4-6 weeks.
Keep in mind however, we can all lose up to 5 natural lashes each day as mature lashes fall out and new ones
grow. The longevity of your eyelash extensions are also influenced by many factors including but not limited
to; lifestyle, use of make-up products, cleansing routine, skin type, and lash growth cycle.
If you want to maintain 100% fullness, we suggest lash infills every two to three weeks to maintain a constant
full look.

Yes, each lash extension is attached to a single eyelash, they will fall out naturally during your natural growth
cycle of each lash. For most individuals, that regrowth cycle is two to three weeks.

No, as it is hard to remove and can actually pull off the lashes prematurely when trying to take it off.

The biggest myth is that lash extensions ruin your own lashes. They do not. If applied correctly and properly,
they are safe and do not ruin the health of your natural lashes. Be sure not to rub your eyes or tug or pull on
the extensions because this can cause lash loss and even damage to your natural lashes.

They feel very light, so you can’t feel them. Russian Volume extensions will hardly add an additional weight to
your natural lashes.

The time scale is dependant on which extension set you are having. However minimum time is approx 2hrs.

Only water based remover or cleanser may be used. No oil based products are to be used on your lash

Yes, however, your eyelashes must be clean and clear of all makeup and oils. Therefore we recommend that
you are mascara free for your appointment.

We recommend that you clean your lashes everyday (with lash cleanser) to remove any excess make-up, oils
and dirt. Lightly brush your eyelash extensions after washing your face to ensure they remain straight and in
line with your natural lashes.

The difference between the sets is the number of lashes applied, the duration of the appointment, and the
price. The longer the appointment time, the more lashes we are able to apply. A fuller set does not necessarily
equate to longer and thicker lashes applied, but rather more lashes applied – so in a word, the difference is
volume. A greater number of lashes applied means it will stay looking fuller for longer as well – when you lose
10 lashes off a Mini set it will be quite noticeable, where as 10 lashes off a full set would not be so noticeable.
Other deciding factors may include whether it is for everyday or a special occasion, your usual eye make-up
routine, the volume of your natural lashes, time available and budget.

• Keep your lashes dry for at least 24 hours

• No swimming, steam rooms or saunas for 48 hours. Use only water based makeup removers and cleansers
(Oily/cream based products will shorten the life of your eyelash extensions).

• No mascara.

• No sunbeds for 48hrs

• No eyelash curlers on your eyelash extensions. Avoid rubbing, touching and playing with your eyelash

• Use a foaming cleanser on your lashes every other day (We’ll show you how it’s done).

• Remove all eye make-up around your eyes, to maintain healthy lashes and prevent any eye infections.

• No sex for at least 24 hours (only kidding, I think you’ll find you feel super sexy)

Some common culprits of lashes not lasting:

• Oily skin and using skincare products containing oil – lash adhesive doesn’t agree with oil! Please use our
recommended products to be sure this is not the cause.

• Lack of cleansing – the eye area is naturally quite oily. Not washing the area means there will be a build up of
oils secreted by the skin, and this will not only weaken your lash growth but make the extensions fall off very quickly.

• Excessive touching – playing with the lashes is fun but your fingertips contain oil and you are applying oil
every time you touch the them. Please leave them alone other than during your daily washing ritual!

• Lifestyle factors – extensions never last as well on people who regularly sweat it out at the gym, go
swimming, do hot yoga etc. You must be prepared to get infills more often than others.

• Heavy makeup – extensions also never lash as well on people who wear a lot of makeup (especially eye
makeup) daily compared to someone who wears little or no makeup. More makeup means more products and
more effort to remove everything.

• Lash cycle – many factors including hormones, season and diet can affect the speed of your lash cycle. It is
quite normal that sometimes your lashes naturally shed quicker than other times.

• Lash design – the extensions selected may be too long and/or too thick for your natural lashes, causing them
to twist or fall off prematurely. The design chosen may also not be well supported by how your lashes grow
naturally eg. a cat eye styling when the natural lashes on the outer corners are very short and fine. This can be
discussed with your stylist at your next appointment.

Please keep in mind it is completely normal and healthy to lose around 3 lashes per day whether you have extensions or not.
